The Tangerine, a weekly student newspaper, has been a part of the Utica College community for 67 years. The newspaper boasts a long history of award-winning stories. Many student editors and contributors have used skills learned at The Tangerine in their successful professional careers.
The Tangerine functions as both an independent student newspaper and an academic learning tool of the Journalism program. Students practice what is learned in the classroom through reporting, writing, editing and designing The Tangerine each week. Student editors are also exposed to management skills necessary in any professional field.
The Tangerine’s weekly editorial is decided by members of the editorial staff. The adviser may join the discussion but does not shape the direction of an editorial.
